I found this sign to be a great reminder, go easy on yourself, life is too short.

My little bathroom remodel. The counter is my old oak dining table, cut down and repurposed. I used a white chalk paint. Very happy with the result.

This was the mess I started with. I had to remove the old tile top and drop sink. It was a little intimidating, but once I got started, it went really smooth.

The sink was a great find at Menards, at a wonderful low price of $34, I believe. Of course it was little more for the faucet, overall, a very affordable update.

My little kitchen, with only about 8 feet of counter space, there are not a lot of options, without doing a major renovation. So I picked the things most important to me and did a small update. New quartz countertop, sink. New stainless steel appliances and range hood.

My biggest decision, which I am so happy with, was to go from an electric to a gas range. I decided to go with a duel fuel range, having an electric oven. It is so beautiful, I almost hate to use it.

Amazing how the small updates have such an impact.
In closing today, I found these sweet framed notes, that say so much in such little space.

Springtime afternoon and evenings at the ballpark. So much fun. Oh my though, tough on my diet, the deep fried jumbo pretzels with cheese are irresistible. Starve myself all day, just to justify the indulgence.
Whatever you do today, take time to appreciate the little things that make life so special.

  • 4 cups quinoa, cooked with unsweetened almond milk to package directions, then cooled*
  • 1 cup juice sweetened, dried cranberries
  • 1 cup pecan pieces
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  1. Mix all ingredients together in a medium mixing bowl and serve.
  2. Note: When cooking the quinoa, simply substitute the water for almond milk in equal amounts according to package directions. If you find that the quinoa is not completely cooked when the milk has cooked out, simply add in 1/2 cup at a time until the quinoa is fully cooked. Keep the heat on low to medium to avoid burning.

Spring is finally showing its face, soccer and little league baseball are getting underway. Still a bit chilly, but happy to be spending time outside.
